Part 2 Midterm

What is Watson? Why is it so much harder for a computer to compete on jeopardy than to play chess?  Do you think this is good thing?  Will computers like this help or hurt people?  What problems can computers solve? Are computers going to take away more jobs?  Will computers eventually take over the world?  What do you think?

Watson is a computer of IBM in which it has power 7 processors. It is very smart; unlike other computers Watson can understand the questions of Jeopardy. The questions of Jeopardy consist of a lot of thinking, you have to think outside the box. That is what Watson does. It is so much harder for a computer to compete on Jeopardy than to play chess because the the computer will get confused of the meaning of the words. If it were to think of the meaning of the word then it will answer it incompletely.

Yes, I think this is a good thing, because computers are very intelligent in some way. But what about us we need to be intelligent in someway ourselves. I think this will help people because in health care natural languages are very important. That is exactly what Watson does. Computers can solve questions that has to do with different ways words are used  and thinking outside of the box.

I think that computers are going to take over more jobs because it can do what humans can do, which is processing a way a word is used. It can run many problems at once to find out how to process the language. I think that computers are going to take over the world because they are very intelligent. They are being upgrade every second to do what humans can do. Next they might know how to reason, and if they do that we are doomed. Not only that, people depend on computers too much, and if it has a brain of its own it can make humans do wrong things.
