Operating System controls what the programs in a computer does.

User Friendly gives a list of other pages you can go to to find more information on what you are looking for. It's always there in google and or yahoo.

BIOS tells the computer how to start using a set of instructions.

Disk Operating System also known as DOS; it is in about all operating systems.

Graphical User Interface also known as GUI; it is based on graphics instead of text

Lesson 5 Programs

Computer Programming is when you tell your computer to do something and it does it. If you program it to do what you want that's what it's going to do. Or the binary code can tell it what to do also.Meaning you program your computer to do something and it does it. You can tell the computer what to do in many different languages.

When you use bits and bites in many different combinations to represent a code it can program your computer. Those codes that are made from the bits and bites can be used to program a computer. So when it does that it can tell the computer what to do and the computer will do it. The computer is like a soldier what ever its masteer or colonel tells him or her to do they do it. The same for computers whatever bits and bites instruct it to do it will do it.

For Not Gates if you put 0 in for A 1 will come out for Q. When it's in for one it's NOT in for the other. For the AND Gates if A and B is 0 then Q is 0 just like if A and B is 1 Q is 1. But if A is 0 and B is 1 then Q is 0 and vice versa. For the Or Gates is if A or B is 1 then Q is 1, the same if both is 1 then Q is 1. If one Or the other is 1, Q is still 1.

Yes devices cause tension in my family. When ever I'm doing something I always have some device in my hand whether it's on the dinner table or in my room. My mom always yells at me to put them away. She says that one day technology and these devices are going to kill me. When I'm texting someone that's very interesting I text them at the dinner table.

But I try not to let my parents see me because if they do they will curse me out. But I'm not the only one when my cousin be coming over he does the same thing. I even do web searches when I'm eating dinner. But that gets my parents madder then they already are. My mom tells me either I eat the dinner or I go on the computer.

Then if I leave the food on the table and choose to go on the web she gets up and turns up the computer. In my family if you do that thats like the worst thing you can do when you are eating. But they don't mind it if I eat and watch t.v because our dinner table is right next to a television.Me when I'm eating, I eat fast so if I want to search on the web I can eat the food and go to the computer. Like I wouldn't text when my parents are looking but if I get a chance and someone sends me a text I will sneak and text back.

Are Your Tech Habits Hurting Your Grades?

Yes my tech habits are hurting my grades because when I'm at home doing my homework there's a computer looking right at me, a game staring at me,a phone waiting for me to call someone or text them and a t.v waiting for me to turn it on. When I turn on the television it's like I can't finish my homework. Even if I finish my homework it be taking me like four hours to finish one because I'm to busy watching t.v. The thing is that even if I try not to turn on the television I still do it anyways.It's very tempting. Plus when I'm doing my homework watching the television its like I don't know what I'm doing because I'm lost in the television.

Especially if the show or movie I'm watching is very interesting. Now as for the computer; when I go to the computer I tell myself that I'm going to get off at a certain time but I don't I get off later then I planned. And when I get off later then I planned I don't have enough time to finish my homework. The computer is very tempting because of the internet.You can go anywhere on the internet. Now when I'm playing a game time go by so fast that I don't even have time to even sleep. I think the most addicting thing is the games because if you are playing a good game time will go by so fast that who not even going to notice.

Just the other day that happened to me. My cousin came over and we were playing football in the x-box 360 and the time went by so fast that I had to do my homework in class. Now as for the phone, when I'm talking to someone on the phone doing homework didn't even cross my mind.

Without the internet I would be bored because every time I get bored I go on the internet plus when I get research project then I'm going to have to go look for a book on that person. Without computers it would be the same like the internet.

Evaluation

My project was checked with the rubric of how well we did and did we do what our teacher asked us to do. I like the way my project turned out to be. I followed every procedure that my teacher told me and I worked to the fullest of my knowledge. Everything that I used in my sources are in my references and on my references I made sure I put all the sites that I went to. I gave credit to every website that I went to.

I could have done better because it took me a while to get my project in the drop box. But other then that I did everything on time and listened to what my teacher had to say. If I was to judge my project the least I would give it is a B because I followed all the instructions and did all the have all the criteria to get an A or B, the least. To make my project better I should have made it shorter then I made it. But good thing I trimmed it in quicktime and got it from about ten minutes to about six minutes.

But looking back I was did wonderful starting from finding the information on delicious to finally dropping it in the drop box. This project took me a while to finish because it had a lot of parts to it. But I liked all the parts to it. This project wasn't hard because my teacher gave us with the procedures on how to do it. This project was fun to do, I hope we have to do more of these projects throughout the school year.

One technology that I am thankful for is the computer because it has internet and the internet does a lot for me. It helps me with my homework and entertain me when I'm bored.

I think that is it right for students to be able to go to websites so they can get help for the math problems or physics problems that they have wrong but their teachers don't tell them how they got that problem wrong. No its not cheating its only helping the students know how to do the problems just in case they get the same problem again. Plus its not their faults if the professor wants to be lazy and give the same exam every year. Its cheating because they can use that exam as a study sheet. How do they get the answers right if they don't know how to do it and the professor don't show them how to do it. If I were to et a job and I don't know what to do I would ask for help thats exactly what the college students are doing they are getting help for what they don't understand. Well I would go to a doctor who did this as long as he knows what he's doing and really understood how to do his job through some help.

Would You Trade Your Paper Books for Digital Versions?

Yes I would trade my paper books for digital versions because of three reasons books rip,you might lose the book, and you are able to get a summary of the book with the digital version. Unlike the book itself you only get a small portion of the summary.
The first reason is that books rip but digital versions of the book won't rip. Plus when the book rip its you thats going to get in trouble not nobody else. Why not just get a digital version and ignore the pain of paying for the book because you ripped it. Why would you want to carry a book anyways when you can have it in a digital form where you don't have to carry anything.Even if you are careful with the book something is going to happen to the book not only can it get ripped you can accidentally spill something on it.
The second reason is that you might lose the book. Anything can get lost matter of fact the biggest of things can get lost so why can't a small book. Yea you will try to book the book somewhere where you can find it but how about if you take it out that place and misplace it then you will forget where you put it. Especially if you have people in your house that loves touching stuff of course they will put it somewhere then forget where they put it.But if you have a digital form you won't have to worry about the book being lost. I don't know about anyone else but I would rather have it in digital form and not lose it then have the book and lose it.
The last reason is that the digital version can give you a good summary of the book. Unlike the book itself it only gives you a brief summary. If you don't get the story a good summary will be waiting for you so you can understand it better in the digital version of the book. But if you have the book itself its just going to show you a little of the summary.Those are why I would rather choose the digital version of the book rather then the book itself.

Yes I think some people spend to much time on the internet when they spend the time on the internet they are in a chat website like Facebook or Twitter so they don't get anytime to spend with their friends.

I work better when it is quiet because it keeps my head focused on what I'm doing. It also keeps it quite. Inside my head I gon't want anything distracting me because to me listening to music is a distraction when you are doing school work. But its not a distraction when I'm doing some exercised it keeps me focused. The music thats keeps me focused when I'm doing exercise R&B and Rap music.

What is your topic?

The topic of my project is computers and how they work or function. I chose this topic because i wanted to know more about computers and their unique features.I want to know what hardwares are involved in the computers.I want to know more about computer softwares. I want to know what makes computers so unique.
The way the keyboard interacts with the monitor just like im typing right now.Everything about the computer fascinates me; whoever thought of computers must of been very smart.This unique software is a very interesting thing.

To me people who say unkind things to others using a computer is a punk because they know they can't say it in the persons face so they say it using a computer.Some people get more confident when they on the computer then when they in real life. People that do stuff like that are just plain sweet not tough but sweet because they don't have the guts to say it to someone else in their faces. Some of them probably say those stuff just to make them look good but if it was them that was getting harassed by someone else they wouldn't look good would they.Plus some people do that because they not being treated with respect so they decide they shouldn't be the only one treated like that so they do that to someone else.

If someone said something mean to me on the telephone, in an email, or in an online discussion i would tell them to come say it in my face if they so tough.But I wouldn't say that first because I have to have netiquette.I would first delete the comment and ignore the person but if they keep sending the message I'm just going to tell them to come say it in my face. I'm not going to talk bad about them or make fun of them because that's scooping down to their level and I learned better from my parents and teachers.I'm not a person that is mean or anything so i would never talk bad about someone if they talk bad about them because to me words doesn't matter.

Yes there's a difference between the computer and the telephone because some people change when they online then when they are really talking with their voice with you. Some people only write bad stuff about you on the computer so other people can see to make fun of you also.While when they send a text or talk to you on the phone no one else but you is going to see or hear what they said.

Dear fellow classmates,

         I am here to tell you about the dangers of the internet.When you go on the internet you should be careful because they watch what you do. As for teens going on facebook, myspace or twitter they should be very carefully because whatever you post up anyone in the world can see it. Don't be mean to other people because someone is going to get you back; even if you think that it might not be funny to them. I suggest that you don't ever give someone your personal information unless you know the person. When I mean "unless you know someone" I mean u seen them with your eyes and you are very cool with them. Don't pay attention to people that post up bad comments about you.

Cyber Safety

1.The risk that teens face on the internet are harassment and cyberbullying. They are more likely to be harmed by peers or by how they act when they online than by adult criminals. 
2. It effect online behavior by letting by online dis-inhibition. It effect online behavior because people can search anything on the net, they can copy and past anything on the net to anywhere that's online, more people see what you post then the people want really wanted to see what you had posted, you never really know whose viewing or seeing what you post, and there's a lot of visible audience meaning that nothing is private.
3. To learn more about the technologies.
4. Its protection from the negative influences of everything from peers or strangers with bad intentions to advertisers to the broader media environment.
5. It means that there are some bad people on the internet and that the web can be dangerous. Its relevant to me by me being more careful when I'm on the web.

Uniforms

I think that kids wearing uniforms make them look like they going to school and are ready to learn. making kids wear uniform keeps them from getting hiked on. Most parents are happy that there kids wear uniforms but i thought these uniforms weren't going to be expensive but i was wrong. This year I'm planning to get only A's or B's and no C's on my report card. I'm going to do all my homework and or classwork unlike last year.
